Artist Statement - C Lang-Coleman
A tradition and talent for art is in my family heritage. To enhance my collection of art from my father and uncle, Robert and Richard Lang (my home’s wall and shelf spaces contain many of their works), I focus my artistic attempts to be displayed elsewhere; off the wall and onto the floor!
My goal is to provide original fine art to collectors who want to expand their home or office gallery to spaces which are not typically used for art display. Unlike traditional floorcloths with simple designs or stencils, many of my floorcloths have developed, complex themes...realistic, impressionistic, or abstract.
Historically used to cover dirt floors or drafty floorboards, floorcloths are meant for any hard surfaced floor, and mine are padded for ergogenic comfort, providing an artistic focus and cushioned footing for decades of practical and aesthetic enjoyment.
For collectors who have plenty of accumulated wall art, or for those who wish to enhance aesthetic opportunities in other spaces, I hope they will consider expanding their personal or public gallery to include the floor! Besides a collection of completed pieces, personalized commissions of floorcloths are also available. Please see Your Gallery for details.
Framed watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel paintings are available in Michigan at Art Fairs posted below. Framed floorcloths, too!
Peace and Joy to you!
